Travis topped the bill as thousands took part in Hogmanay celebrations in Aberdeen.

The popular Glasgow band were centre stage at the Castlegate for the city centre party to bring in the New Year.

Travis were supported by Sandi Thom, Celtic rock band Albannach and German band The Taste. The free event was on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meanwhile, Stonehaven again featured the spectacular annual parade of swinging fireballs.

Travis have had a string of hits including Why Does It Always Rain On Me.

Sandi Thom, from Banffshire, ended the nine week run of Gnarls Barkley with Crazy at the top of the UK singles chart with her song I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker.
