Man charged with father's murder

A police inquiry had been launched on Friday
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his father in Aberdeenshire.

Benjamin Holding, 28, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court over the death of 70-year-old Michael Holding.

He was charged with murdering Mr Holding on 13 October this year and stealing money. Mr Holding's body was found at Inchmarlo on Friday.

Mr Holding made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
