Man arrested over pensioner death
A body was found on Friday morning

An arrest has been made by police following the death of a 70-year-old man in Aberdeenshire.

Grampian Police said the death in Inchmarlo, near Banchory, was being treated as murder.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. He is expected to appear in court on Monday.

The incident at East Mains was reported at about 0540 GMT on Friday. Forensic officers could be seen at the property.

Detective Inspector Matt Mackay, the senior investigating officer, said: "Inquiries are at a very early stage and full forensic examination is being carried out at the scene."
