It is hoped Aberdeen can secure a 50m pool
The leader of Aberdeen City Council believes Glasgow hosting the 2014 Commonwealth Games makes a 50m pool even more likely for the Granite City.

Kate Dean has pledged to work hard to ensure Aberdeen is used as a training base for athletes.

This is seen as another reason for the city to get a 50m pool.

She told BBC Scotland: "I think this is a very exciting opportunity for us. There will be a need for training camps all over the country."
