BP pressed over city job concerns
BP Aberdeen
BP has suffered a profit slump despite rising oil prices
BP has been asked to ensure the company does all it can to help relocate the 350 Aberdeen staff who are set to lose their jobs.

The oil giant insists the restructuring programme announced last week does not affect its long term commitment to the North Sea.

Aberdeen North MSP Brian Adam, whose constituency includes the headquarters at Dyce, held talks on Monday.

Mr Adam said the discussions offered some reassurances from BP.

The cuts are expected to be mainly made among onshore staff based at BP's Aberdeen headquarters.

BP said the changes were necessary to secure its long term future in Aberdeen and the North Sea.
