The jury in the trial of two men charged with an Aberdeen murder has been sent home for the evening.

Derek Carswell, 40, and Stephen Rankin, 32, deny murdering Robert Mair, 57, whose body was found in Aberdeen's Kettlehills Crescent in February.

Judge Lord Bracadale began addressing the jury at the High Court in Edinburgh at about 1030 BST.

It retired to consider its verdict at about 1245 BST. Jury deliberations will now resume on Thursday morning.

Mr Mair's body was found tied up in a cupboard in his house.

The trial began on 13 September.
