Woman, 77, rescued in Cairngorms

A 77-year-old woman who fell ill while walking in the Cairngorms near Braemar has been rescued.

The operation was mounted following the alarm being raised at about 1300 BST near Creag Choinnich.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service who had received a mobile phone call from the scene saying the woman was unwell.

Grampian Police and Braemar Mountain Rescue teams found the woman who was taken by stretcher to an ambulance.
