Evacuation from oil installation
Maersk oil worker
Almost 40 workers were evacuated from the platform
Almost 40 North Sea workers had to be evacuated from an installation at the centre of oil and gas leaks in recent days, BBC Scotland has learned.

Non-essential staff on floating production installation Janice A, operated by Maersk, were taken off after a fault in safety equipment.

Production had recently been shut down after an oil leak was detected nearby.

A spokeswoman for Maersk said it was a precautionary decision and nobody was in any danger at any time.
