An 11-year-old Polish boy kicked and punched in what police believe was a racist assault in Aberdeen was the victim of an earlier attack.
Robert Strazek was treated in hospital after he was set upon by two teenagers near his home in Seaton.
It has now been revealed he was also attacked in April.
Family friend Iwona Lamb told BBC Scotland: "Robert is only 11. Nobody - regardless of nationality or colour - deserves that type of treatment."
The young victim was assaulted by two teenage boys who punched and kicked him about the face and body.
The attack happened at the playing fields between Seaton Primary School and St Ninian's Court on Friday night.
Body bruised
The teenagers were aged about 13 and 15 and had a young Boxer dog.
A Grampian Police spokesman said: "It is suspected the incident may have been racially motivated."
Robert's mother took him to hospital for treatment for bruising to the face, chest and body.
The main attacker is described as being about 15, 5ft 3in tall, slim, with black spiky hair. He was wearing a light blue T-shirt and black trousers.
The other male is described as being about 13, 5ft 1in tall, stocky, with short black hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with black stripes and blue jeans.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
