A teenage girl with learning difficulties was stripped and tortured after being kidnapped in Aberdeen, a court has heard.
Tammy McGregor, 19, was beaten and had hot water poured over her head at a flat in the city.
The High Court in Aberdeen heard Lee Holt, 27, and Donna O'Neill, 21, admitted assault causing severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
The pair, both from Aberdeen, will appear for sentencing next month.
Ms McGregor's two-and-a-half hour ordeal began when she was lured to a tenement flat in the city's Park Road in September last year.
Former lover
There the accused tied her up, beat her, slashed her with a knife, stubbed out cigarettes on her head and body and threatened to kill her.
Advocate depute Geoff Mitchell said Ms McGregor, who has a mental age of 12, was so terrified that she wet herself.
Holt was Ms McGregor's former lover and the court heard the attack happened after it was claimed she had spread rumours that he was a rapist.

Judge Lord Bracadale told Holt and O'Neill that they had subjected their victim to a horrific experience.
Her face was so badly swollen doctors could not operate on her immediately and had to use a wheelchair for three months.
She also suffered a broken nose and jaw and needed treatment to cuts all over her body.
Lord Bracadale said: "You have both pleaded guilty to a case which will have everyone who hears about it utterly appalled."
Sentence was deferred for background reports until 18 April.
