Tesco is now the UK's largest supermarket group
Tesco's plans to open a supermarket in Peterhead have been rejected by councillors.

An Aberdeenshire Council meeting heard claims that a price war could break out if a third major store opened in the Aberdeenshire port.

Asda and Morrisons already have shops in the fishing town.

Councillors said such a move from the UK's largest supermarket group could be detrimental, increasing leakage of shoppers from the town centre.
