Police are following several new lines of inquiry after a fire claimed two lives in Fraserburgh.
Derek Roy died alongside Derek Youngson in the fire
Derek Youngson, 19, and Derek Roy, 46, died in the blaze on Hogmanay.
Grampian Police returned to the scene on Sunday, one week after the fire, to speak to people in the Kirk Brae area in the hope of clues.
Det Insp Paul McCruden said: "The situation remains that it is not possible to say at this stage if the fire is suspicious."
The bodies of the two men were found on the top floor of the building, while four other people were rescued from the fire.
Several officers took part in the operation and used a questionnaire to speak to about 60 members of the public in the area.
And about 200 members of the congregation of the nearby Fraserburgh Old Parish Curch were also spoken to.
Det Insp McCruden, who is leading the enquiry, said: "The fire happened around the time these people would have been going to church.
Police hope the operation will help their inquiry
"An officer addressed the congregation before the start of the service, appealing for anyone who might have seen anything or have any information which could assist the enquiry to contact us.
"As a result of the operation people have provided us with information which could assist our enquiry and we have a potential eight further lines of enquiry which officers are in the process of following up. "
He urged anyone who was in the area at midday on 31 December and who has not spoken to police to come forward.
Businesses have also been urged to come forward with any CCTV footage.
