The blaze broke out at a tenement in Fraserburgh
The second of two men who died in a fire in Aberdeenshire on Hogmanay has been named.

Grampian Police have confirmed that Derek Roy, 46, was killed in the blaze at a tenement flat in Kirk Brae, Fraserburgh, on 31 December.

The name of the other victim, 19-year-old Derek Youngson, was released on Thursday.

Police are still investigating the fire and carried out a stop and question operation in the area on Sunday.

Det Insp Paul McCruden said a team of about 20 officers was in Kirk Brae on Sunday morning with a view to identifying potential witnesses.

He urged anyone who was in the area at midday on 31 December and who has not spoken to police to come forward.

Businesses have also been urged to come forward with any CCTV footage.

The bodies of the two men were found on the top floor of the building, while four other people were rescued from the fire.
