The Duchess of Rothesay hopes to raise charity funds

The wife of Prince Charles has been taking part in a Royal Deeside walk to launch a charity drive.

Camilla, known as the Duchess of Rothesay when north of the border, was on a 10-mile walk around Loch Muick.

She was kicking off the National Osteoporosis Society's (NOS) Big Bones Walks charity campaign.

Camilla's mother died of brittle bone disease and the walk will raise funds for the NOS's work including research, education and a helpline.

The route of the walk is within the Balmoral estate where the duchess often takes holidays with Prince Charles.

The duchess, who is a keen walker and chose the route personally, was being joined by other walkers including school children and people with osteoporosis.
