A heightened security warning has been issued to the thousands of people expected to flock to this weekend's Braemar Gathering.
As many as 20,000 people could turn out to see The Queen and other members of the Royal Family at the annual Highland games in Aberdeenshire on Saturday.
Police have urged people to allow plenty of time for travel.
A Grampian Police spokesperson said: "Due to increased security levels, they may be subject to baggage searches."
Parking restrictions
The spokesperson added: "Those attending are reminded that no pets are allowed within the games arena and therefore should not be brought to the event.
"Strict parking restrictions will be in force. People arriving for the Gathering from the Blairgowrie side will be directed off the A93 at Fraser's Bridge and into Braemar along Cluniebank Road
"Those arriving from the Aberdeen side will be directed into car parking areas a short distance west of Braemar Castle as they approach the village.
"However those competitors, officials, service suppliers and local residents who have previously been issued with passes allowing them access to the village or to specific car parks will be directed to these destinations."
The games were first held in 1832 and are a popular event on the Highland games and Royal calendar.
