A man has died while diving in waters around the Scapa Flow area of the Orkney Islands.
The Scapa Flow area is known for its many marine wrecks
Matthew Hooton, from the Scunthorpe area, had been on a diving holiday with a group.
The 61-year-old was found to be unconscious when he surfaced from a sunken Navy barge and died later.
Ships have used the sheltered waters of Scapa Flow for centuries, including during both world wars, and it is a popular site for wreck diving.
A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said the diver was brought ashore where ambulance personnel were waiting, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
