An Aberdeen woman who is believed to be Scotland's oldest person has celebrated her 111th birthday.
Annie Knight was born in 1895 when Queen Victoria was still ruling over the British Empire and has now seen three different centuries.
She was joined by family and friends for the birthday celebrations at Aberdeen's Royal Cornhill Hospital.
Her son Bill, 85, said his mother never drank alcohol or smoked cigarettes, and she enjoyed porridge.
Mr Knight, who said his mother also liked sweets, said of the birthday milestone: "It is quite an achievement."
Mrs Knight, a talented musician, moved to Aberdeen from Glasgow and later gave piano lessons. She was widowed in the 1980s.
