The winning Harrier bid has still to be confirmed
A Harrier jump jet being auctioned on eBay has attracted an offer of more than £65,000 from Aberdeenshire.

The decommissioned veteran of the Falklands conflict was being sold on the internet site by a business in England.

The sale of the engineless former Royal Navy plane will not be completed until all of the financial details have been finalised.

Details of the buyer or why they want the jet have not been clarified.

It was put up for sale by Keltruck in West Bromwich and management were delighted with the final offer.

Marketing director Chris Kelly said: "Its final price was £65,512.34 and I've sent an invoice to the winning bidder, who's based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire.

"It's going to cost a couple of thousand pounds to get it shipped up there.

"Alternatively, we could sell them a new or used truck for them to take it themselves."
