Centenary year of motorbike contest in planning

2010 Scottish Six Days Trail
Katy Sunter has urged more women to compete in the event

Planning has started on next year's centenary event of what is believed to be the world's oldest motorcycle trials competition.

The Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) is held near Fort William and organised by Edinburgh and District Motor Club.

Competitors come from across the UK, but also Europe, Canada and Australia.

During this year's event, leading female motorcyclist Katy Sunter, from Yorkshire, urged more women to compete in the SSDT.

She was one of only six women out of 270 competitors at the trial.
