A 13-pupil school serving communities in the west Highlands' Applecross peninsula is seeking a head teacher.

Highland Council has re-advertised the vacancy at Applecross Primary which comes with a £43,593 salary and £2,124 remote allowance.

The school is in the village of Camusterrach about three miles from where the alpine-like Bealach na Ba road reaches sea level.

The job is one of 28 teaching vacancies being advertised by Highland Council.

Other posts include science, English and physical education teachers.

In March, a head teacher was appointed to a nine-pupil primary school on another Highlands peninsula.

Highland Council had re-advertised the post at Scoraig between Little Loch Broom and Loch Broom, near Ullapool.

The local authority appointed Alison Barr, who had been the school's acting head teacher since last December.
