Woman seriously injured in fire

A woman has been seriously injured in a fire at a first floor flat in Nairn.

She has been transferred from Raigmore Hospital in Invernesss to the specialist burns unit at St John's Hospital in Livingston.

A man was also hurt in the blaze and was taken to Nairn Town and County Hospital for treatment.

The fire in Albyn Court started shortly after midnight. Northern Constabulary said the cause of the blaze was being investigated.
