A small school which used a video-sharing website to help in its search for a new head teacher is still seeking to fill the vacancy.

Children at Melvich Primary in Sutherland lay on the ground to spell the word "help" in a two-minute film uploaded on YouTube last summer.

But Highland Council said it has had to re-advertise the post after being unable to find a suitable candidate.

Head teachers have also been sought for five other Highlands schools.

The vacancies are at Carrbridge, Cromarty, Inver, South Lodge in Invergordon and Golspie High School.

Salaries for the six jobs total more than £244,600.

The Melvich post comes with a £43,968 salary.

In June, pupils and staff attracted worldwide interest to the video they uploaded on the internet.

So far it has been viewed 13,039 times.

The biggest town near Melvich is Thurso, a 30-minute drive away. Inverness is an almost three-hour drive south.

Highland Council applauded the children's creative approach in trying to attract a new head.
