Section of Highlands walk closed

A stretch of the Great Glen Way in the Highlands has been closed until the end of March next year.

The closure from Allt na Criche to Rubha Ban on the Fort Augustus-Invermoriston section of the route is needed for the harvesting of trees.

Highland Council said diversions for walkers have been marked by orange arrows, but warned that some sections were steep.

It added that the alternative route was not suitable for cyclists and horses.
