Shinty club secures Euro funding

A Highlands shinty club has secured £10,590 of European funding to help it cover the cost of upgrading its pitch.

Beauly Shinty Club along with Strathdearn Hall committee received funding from the European LEADER programme.

Fiona Morrison, of the Beauly club's committee, said the upgrade would allow it to host larger competitions and bring more visitors into the village.

Strathdearn Hall, near Inverness, attracted £35,000.

This will go towards the cost of building a new multi-use sports centre.
