One dead in Highlands road crash

One person has been killed in a crash between a minibus and car on a section of the A9 in the Highlands.

The accident happened at about 1735 BST at Skelbo Wood, near Dornoch in Sutherland.

Two men were also freed from the wreckage but their injuries were not thought to be serious.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said police, fire and rescue and ambulance crews were called to the scene and the road had been closed.
