Police name biker killed in crash

Police have named a 40-year-old woman who was killed when her motorbike left the road at Mid Clyth in Caithness.

Michelle Smith from Ellon in Aberdeenshire was heading north on the A99 at the Hill of Stanes junction when the accident happened.

Northern Constabulary said no other vehicles were involved in the accident, which happened at 1930 BST on Friday.

Any witnesses to the crash or who could help with the investigation have been asked to contact Wick police.
