Fatally injured hillwalker named

An American woman who died after being injured during a hill walk in Sutherland has been named.

Laura Jessiman, 51, was reported overdue from a walk near Durness at about 1650 BST on Wednesday.

A search was launched involving the police, mountain rescue and an RAF helicopter from Lossiemouth.

Ms Jessiman was found seriously injured and was transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by helicopter but was pronounced dead on arrival.
