Missing walker found after search

A 60-year-old walker who was reported missing in the Glenfinnan area of Lochaber has been found safe and well.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and a rescue helicopter from HMS Gannett at Prestwick were involved in a search for the man on Sunday.

Concerns had been raised due to a friend failing to receive pre-organised automated messages from the walker.

It has since been established that there was a fault in the equipment being used by the man.

This meant the messages were not being transmitted as planned and at no time was the walker in any danger.

He was found near Barrisdale, Knoydart, and continued on his journey along the Cape Wrath Trail.
