More funds for isles media centre

Media centre site
The centre will be created in a former textile mill

Plans to turn a former textile mill on the Western Isles into a centre for media and the creative industries has received £750,000 in funding.

Public agency Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has promised the money towards the £2.5m cost.

Last month, £1m from the European Regional Development Fund was allocated to the project in Stornoway on Lewis.

Some of the energy for the building will be supplied by a wind turbine and ground source heat pump.
