Work to start on wind farm site

The construction of 23 wind turbines at a site Achany in Sutherland is to start next week.

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) will begin the project with the building of tracks to allow workers, vehicles and equipment to reach the area.

Planning permission was granted following a public inquiry held in August 2007.

SSE said it hoped the wind farm would be completed and ready to generate electricity by the end of next year.
