HSE said it will target developers and renovators

A campaign to reduce the number of deaths in the property development business has been launched in Scotland.

Edinburgh-based Health and Safety Executive (HSE) principal inspector Jim Skilling said 38 people were killed on projects in Great Britain last year.

Falls and electrocution were found to be the most likely causes of death.

Mr Skilling said many other workers were injured, or have suffered ill health because of unsafe practices on sites.

The HSE said it would be targeting property investors, developers and renovators.
