Lufthansa will run flights to Dusseldorf from June

Workshops are to be held to help businesses cash in on flights between Inverness and Dusseldorf.

German carrier Lufthansa will run the air service from June to September.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) will hold the events - one called Doing Business with Germany - in the north, Moray, Western and Northern isles.

Rob Clarke, of HIE, said: "These workshops are aimed at helping those who either wish to begin exporting or are interested in new markets."

Germany is Scotland's second largest international market for inbound tourism after the US, accounting for 278,000 trips in 2006 and visitor spend of £123m, according to Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL).
