Fire leads to school evacuation

A school was evacuated for about 20 minutes after a fire broke out in a nearby workshop.

Firefighters were called to Wick High School at 1027 GMT to deal with a small fire in a pile of saw dust.

Highland Council said children and staff were later able to return to classes.

A piece of equipment was thought to be to blame and no pupils were in the workshop, which is separate from the main building, at the time.
