Man killed in road accident named

A 77-year-old man died in a single vehicle crash on the A9 near Dalwhinnie in the Highlands, police said.

Bruce Melrose, from Edinburgh, died in the accident which happened on Friday afternoon. He was headed south in a Vauxhall Vectra car.

Northern Constabulary's road policing unit investigated the cause of the accident.

The force said no further details on the incident were available for release.
