Woman killed in one-vehicle crash

A woman who died in a road crash in Caithness has been named by police.

Anne Ryder, 36, who was originally from Wick but who lived in Huna near John o'Groats, died in a one-vehicle crash on the A99 in Freswick, north of Keiss.

Northern Constabulary have appealed to anyone who saw a silver car in the area between the hours of 0530 GMT and 0815 GMT to contact them.

The road was closed until about 1430 GMT, when the policing unit completed its investigation.
