Worker dies in fall from oil rig

A worker has died after falling from an oil rig docked in the Cromarty Firth, near Invergordon.

Police said Lewis MacDonald, 35, from Milnafua, Alness, was taken to hospital in Invergordon, where he later died.

The accident happened on the Ocean Princess, a semi-submersible drilling rig, which was built in 1975.

Police said the Health and Safety Executive had been informed of incident, which happened some time before 0900 GMT.
