Care worker admits Red Rum charge

Sentence was deferred at Inverness Sheriff Court until December.

A care worker has admitted a charge of placing oversized false teeth in a man's mouth and likening him to the racehorse Red Rum.

Janet Cameron, 43, of Inverness, also admitted conducting herself in a disorderly manner and dripping water on the face of a resident at a home.

Not guilty pleas to various other charges involving alleged cruel treatment and assaults were accepted.

At Inverness Sheriff Court, sentence was deferred until 16 December.

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood called for the preparation of background social inquiry and community service reports.

The offences were committed at Southside Nursing Home in Inverness.

A special bail condition was set preventing Cameron from entering the home or its grounds.
