Five deny football captain attack

Four men and a woman have been accused of attacking the captain of Elgin City Football Club in Inverness city centre.

David Hind, 26, was allegedly assaulted on Stephen's Brae during the early hours of 31 August.

Team-mate Craig Campbell, 24, and another man, Richard Downer, were also allegedly attacked by some of those among the five accused.

The five denied the charges when they appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court. Trial was set for 5 February.

The five are Alan Coe, 23, Rhiannon McLafferty, 18, and Sean Henny, 18, all of Inverness.

Also, Daniel Finlay, 18, of Invergordon, and Taran Campbell, 22, of North Kessock.
