Michael Portillo will talk about a rare skin condition that can affect children

Former UK Conservative defence secretary Michael Portillo is to address the annual conference of the Scottish Rotarians.

The gathering is being held at the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.

Rotary International said the event would be worth about £500,000 to the local economy as club members arrived from all over the country.

Mr Portillo will speak about epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin condition that can affect children.
