Ferry links expected to continue

International ferry links between Caithness, the Scandinavian mainland, Iceland and the Faeroes look set to continue for a third year.

Scrabster Harbour Trust said it expected ferry operator Smyril to extend its summer service by two weeks in response to demand.

Users have included tourists touring by campervan and those travelling through Caithness from the UK and Europe.

The Norrona - a so-called super ferry - travels the route.
