Cordon lifted at industrial site

A cordon around an industrial estate at the centre of an incident involving non-radioactive material removed from a nuclear site has been lifted.

An investigation by emergency services is ongoing at Janetstown near Thurso.

Workers were evacuated after fumes set off an alarm on Thursday morning. No-one was injured.

Fire, ambulance and police were called after smoke was given off by sodium removed from Dounreay, which is in the process of being decommissioned.
