Police cars damaged in incident

Two stationary police cars were damaged after a 4x4 which was being driven erratically failed to stop for officers, police said.

The incident happened at about 0645 BST between Maryburgh and Conon Bridge on the A835 Tore to Maryburgh road.

Police said a 28-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Dingwall Sherriff Court on Friday.

Northern Constabulary said no-one was injured.
