Industrial park planned for port

An industrial park is being planned as part of an expansion of Scrabster Harbour in Caithness.

Scrabster Harbour Trust and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) are working together to progress the plans.

The move comes as the Pentland Firth is opened up for the development of marine energy projects.

New opportunities for employment are also being sought as the Dounreay nuclear power complex is being decommissioned.

Scrabster Harbour Trust has previously announced plans to modernise the existing oil tanker berth and to build a new deepwater quay.

The industrial park would cover 30 acres.
