Lego comics artist to join Hi-Ex

Artists are being signed up in the countdown to nexy year's Hi-Ex

An illustrator of comics based on a LEGO toy and an artist for a video game developer are the latest to sign up for a Highlands comic book convention.

Leigh Gallagher has drawn for the Lego Bionicle comics and also DC Comics' The Witching and Justice League Unlimited.

Lee Carter has worked on games titles such as Project Gotham Racer.

Organisers of next year's Hi-Ex, at which the pair are to appear, said Mr Carter was working on a new "top secret" strip for British comic 2000AD.

First time

Superman comic book artist Frank Quitely is another one of the guests booked for the convention.

Hi-Ex was held for the first time this year and is due to take place again on 14-15 February.

Mr Quitely recently illustrated All Star Superman - written by fellow Scot Grant Morrison - for America's DC Comics.

Mick McMahon, another leading comic artist, has also been booked for the event in Eden Court, Inverness.
