Firm planning to create new jobs

A Caithness engineering firm plans to expand its workforce and bid for overseas sub-sea oil and gas fabrication contracts.

Nicolson Engineering (NES) are taking forward a £2.7m development plan following approval of a £500,000 grant from Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Fifty new jobs are expected to be added to the 29 currently employed.

Bosses Jim Mills and Eddie Maclellan said they hoped to bid for contracts in the Middle Estate and Africa.
