A project manager is to be appointed by the insurers for Inverness Leisure to coordinate work to reopen swimming pools that were closed after a fire.

The competition and leisure pools had to be shut following a blaze in the plant room serving the Inverness Aquadome on Saturday.

General manager James Martin said it was unlikely the 25m competition pool will reopen before October.

It will also be weeks before leisure facilities are available.

The complex's dry side is open as normal.
