A £1.5m production about the history of St Kilda has won one of two honours it was in the running for at inaugural Scottish Event Awards in Glasgow.

"St Kilda - A European Opera" was performed last June and featured dancers, musicians and Gaelic song.

It won best traditional event at the ceremony in Glasgow.

However, it lost out to Glasgow's International Festival of Light, Radiance 07, in the arts section of the awards.
