New deer season service launched

A service providing walkers with information on where deer stalking activity is taking place across Scotland has been launched.

The Hillphones 2008 initiative, co-ordinated by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), covers 13 locations used by walkers and stalkers.

The Mountaineering Council of Scotland is also promoting the service.

Details are available on a website and from a telephone service. The stalking season runs to 20 October.
