A race where participants negotiate a two-mile stretch of river on airbeds makes its return after a five-year absence.

Competitors in the Glen Nevis River Race in Lochaber, the Highlands, must navigate spots called Gurgling Gorge, Leg Breaker and the Lower Falls Leap.

Saturday's event will raise money for Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team.

The BBC's former Blue Peter presenter John Noakes took part in the race in the 1970s.

Entrants start by launching themselves off a ledge on a rock face at the head of the glen, before plunging into the river and later dropping down a 30ft (9m) waterfall at Lower Falls Leap.

A timed event, in previous years results times have varied from 20 minutes to an hour.
