Wind turbine plan not called in

A plan for a 13-turbine wind farm on the Eisken Estate on Lewis will not be called in by the Scottish Government.

Western Isles council (Comhairle nan Eilean Siar) which approved the proposal, has been told that there will be no objections to it from ministers.

Developer Nick Oppenheim scaled down the project from the original application for 16 turbines.

He has a separate application for the site for 53 turbines which has been considered by a public inquiry.
